GRI 203: Indirect Economic Impacts
2016
203-2 Significant indirect economic impacts

With organizing investment programs, some of partners are indeed our customers and our business relationship has been deepened through working together. Take Caritas Hong Kong as an example, we have worked with them for several programs since 2009. Alone in 2017, we sponsored the “Brighter World” Fund-raising Concert and Sharing with Nick Vujicic organized by the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong (MYO). The event offered students with autism or physical disabilities with trainings and opportunities to be performing on stage. Another example is supporting Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF)’s annual charity event “Lucky Money Wishes 2018”. In this event, we not only sponsored the design and printing of the red packets and the event promotional materials, but also set up donation boxes at our offices to raise funds for the children with heart diseases.

Whereas for workforce engagement, we seek to cultivate a number of community-minded characteristics in our employees, including influencing their friends and families to give back to society, develop charitable hearts and learn to respect different cultures. We generally observed that the participated staff show higher employee satisfaction and more engaged with the company. The change can be easily spotted out among winners from Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) Community Award. In addition, it is easier for our HR colleagues to recruit new talents from good CSR imaged organization.
