We also prohibit inhumane treatment, child and forced labor, discrimination, interference and other forms of abuse. To protect our employees, we have formulated detailed harassment communication policies along with an easy-to- understand Complaint and Grievance Guideline. The Health and Safety Guideline and chemical handling procedures are also in place to ensure occupational health and safety.

Employee Engagement

Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) attaches high importance to employee wellness, believing it to be a pillar of our sustained success. Through a wide range of interesting employee engagement initiatives, we strive to foster an enjoyable work environment.

Recognizing the significance of work-life balance, our employees can enjoy up to 25 days of Blissful Leave per fiscal year to celebrate every precious moment, such as birthday, passing driving test, vehicle purchase, wedding anniversary and children’s graduation.

To further promote work-life balance, we continued work-life balance weeks in FY2017, during which employees were encouraged to take part in sports and cultural activities like visiting local exhibitions, watching movies and attending concerts. Those engaging in these activities with their families and friends would also receive sponsorships. Back to daily working life, we prepared some summer and autumn sweet surprises to our employees. Fresh fruits, ice-cream, a candy corner and HK$1 drinks were offered during office hours, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.

Our colleagues enjoy the summer and autumn sweet surprises.

We also collaborated with suppliers to organize a mini Lunar New Year Fair in our office two weeks before the Year of the Dog to spread the festive joy. The fair allowed employees to buy Chinese New Year puddings and gift packages, frozen seafood and meat, skin care products, dietary supplements and snacks at discounted prices. Due to the overwhelming response from employees, there will have other similar fairs to be arranged in FY2018.

Apart from offering sponsorships for employees to enjoy sports and cultural activities, we also hired professional coaches to host regular football, basketball and dragon boat training sessions. In FY2017, we organized internal competitions and participated in the fifth All-Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific President Cup (Soccer Match) in Yokohama, Japan on 18 November 2017.

We love our planet and endeavor to cultivate environmental consciousness among our employees. We joined the Green Hero Alliance Program 2017 initiated by the World Green Organization. Through an upcycling workshop of natural skin products and visits to Zero Carbon Building and the Kowloon Bay Material Transfer Centre, our employees learnt more about low carbon living and recycling. The valuable knowledge would help them lead a sustainable lifestyle and, more importantly, create a sustainable environment for our future generations.

Employee Satisfaction

Other than regular communication meetings, informal gatherings and performance reviews, we conduct an anonymous Employee Engagement Survey to gauge our employee satisfaction annually. In FY2017, we continued to use the survey designed by the Hay Group with high response rate of 99.8%. Among all areas, we performed best in “Quality and Customer Focus”, demonstrating our success as a “Strong” company under the “Good Company” concept. The survey results showed us our strengths and areas for improvement. We will continue to implement improvement actions to engage our employees and promote team spirit and a happy workplace.

In addition, we gathered employees’ feedback on our employee engagement programs organized in FY2017 and invited them to share their innovative ideas on how the company could further promote employee engagement and satisfaction.

Learning and Development

Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) considers talent development as a critical success factor. Aiming to foster a positive learning culture, we introduced the award-winning “Great Learner Campaign” in 2011. Employees can redeem various rewards, such as ferry and air tickets, with their “learning mileage” earned through diversified learning channels such as external training, in-house workshops, e-learning, book reading and exposure opportunities. With this life-long learning initiative, over 300 employees have accumulated over 100 learning hours individually and the top learner achieved more than 900 hours.

In FY2017, a “Gamification” concept was further adopted in our learning activities to foster the learning culture. We held a large-scale team building event for our sales team in Hong Kong Disneyland, and developed a mobile application as an organizational and team communication platform through which the team could submit tasks and share photos of happy moments. Besides, we held another interactive mobile apps building workshop in the Management Gathering Session as the key activity. Our managers had experienced a taste of apps development and more importantly, how the new media helps in business.

For talent development, we have recruited eight young talents as Solution Consulting Trainee in FY2017 which is a biennial program followed the success from the one in FY2015. During the two-year training period, the trainees will equip with latest ICT and management knowledge, rotate to different departments to get familiar with the business operation and have different exposures including a study tour to our Headquarter and R&D Square in Japan and be key members of our Annual Dinner Committee together with the graduated trainees. We further admit that one of the key motivators for millennials is having a sense of purpose and meaning in work. Therefore, the graduated trainees are invited to be the taskforce members of the new Solutions Consulting Trainee Program and engaged through the buddy program.

The FY2015 and FY2017 Solution Consulting Trainees join a buddy gathering and perform a wonderful dance in the Annual Dinner.

Furthermore, we attach high importance to creating value for our next generation. Through the career seminars held at various tertiary education institutions, participants are equipped with interview and CV writing skills. We are pleased that the participants truly appreciated our sharing so as to enhance their view from business perspective.

Community Engagement

Adhering to the “Good Company” concept pioneered in 1992, Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) strives to contribute to local communities and environment while creating a workplace that promotes creativity and a fulfilling life and career.

In 2017, we received the Industry Cares Recognition Scheme - Caring Certificate from the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in recognition of our continuous commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as well as our excellence and advocacy in fulfilling social responsibilities. Our “Green Tour” and heartfelt support for various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have also been highly acclaimed. Through these initiatives, we further promoted sustainable development and social awareness of CSR and strengthened stakeholder engagement. In the future, we will continue to promote CSR and contribute to the harmonious development of Hong Kong.

Ms. Katherine Lau, General Manager - Corporate Quality & Sustainability of Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) Limited, meets Mr. Nick Vujicic at the “Brighter World” Fund-raising Concert and Sharing.

As a trusted ICT partner, we often support charity events and NGOs by offering printing sponsorship. In FY2017, we sponsored the “Brighter World” Fund-raising Concert and Sharing organized by the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong with world-famous motivational speaker Mr. Nick Vujicic. The event offered students with autism or physical disabilities training and opportunities to perform on stage. Through sponsoring promotional materials printing, we wished to show the public that people with disabilities are as capable as any of us, and to encourage them to embrace the differences and create a better world together.

Celebrating the festive Chinese New Year, we supported the annual charity event “Lucky Money Wishes 2018” held by the Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF) by sponsoring the design and printing of red packets and promotional materials. We also set up donation boxes at our offices to encourage our colleagues to donate red packets to children with congenital heart diseases.

While we support the community, we also care about the environment. We joined the red packet recycling program initiated by the Greeners Action. Four collection points were set up at our offices to collect used red packets for recycling. We were pleased to see the enthusiastic responses from our employees.

Meanwhile, we are always ready to offer a helping hand to those in need. In FY2017, over 900 volunteers from Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) participated in more than 20 volunteering events. On 29 April 2017, our volunteers took part in the “Walk for Living Water 2017” Walkathon organized by the Amity Foundation to raise funds for water infrastructure projects in some developing regions in the mainland China that lack accessible water supply. By participating in the walkathon, we also encouraged the public to save water and safeguard this precious resource.

Education plays an important role in promoting environmental conservation. Hence, we joined hands with Trash2Treasure to hold an upcycling workshop for our employees. The participants had a better understanding of the food waste problem in Hong Kong and how to grow edible mushrooms using coffee powder and food waste. More importantly, they also learnt upcycling tips that would contribute towards a sustainable lifestyle.

In addition to the above mentioned activities, we also joined a wide range of community engagement activities during the year, such as fund-raising bazaars, charity runs, walkathons, visits to the underprivileged and beach cleaning activities. We believe that by taking care of our community and the environment, we can build a sustainable future together.
